10 years in the making!
Recorded almost ten years ago, the debut album by Southend based progressive rock trio, Ithael, lay unfinished, and unreleased. A series of unfortunate events and personal tragedy had meant it had fallen by the wayside unlikely ever to be finished.
In the run up to the 10th Anniversary of the original recordings, Ithael approached Pete to completely rework, remix and master the definitive edition of what could have been.
"Chapters is emotional, beautiful, angry, and catchy as hell"
Vocalist, guitarist and song writer, Paul Fryer's lyrics weave a rich tapestry of darkness and beauty, of love and sorrow, of frustration and anger. The music is equally contrasting in style, giving form to the struggles inherent in the lyrics, pulling at your heart-strings, and then kicking you in the face with it's heavier metal edges in equal measure. All the while there is an optimism for the future here in brighter, sing-along moments.
This 10th anniversary edition offers a window into a band who would have hit the ground running with their first offering, with a maturity and nuance to their music that is so much more than a rock/metal record.
Turn up the stereo, close your eyes, sit back and enjoy the journey.
