After years of learning his craft in various bands, including a 10 year stint playing tuba in a local brass band, Rob took the plunge into the wonderful world of game music. He contacted his childhood friend Peter Sperring for mentorship and Wob Wob Rob was born!
He took himself off to EGX and secured his first console credit in the form of FuzzBall. After 2 years freelancing for Netspeak Games, they ended up hiring him as a full time audio designer to work on Sunshine Days where he realised his dream of releasing an album on vinyl. In this period he became an expert on the mobile gaming industry and made lifelong industry friends.
Rob, along with Pete, is currently undertaking the ambitious challenge of creating 100 unique music asset packs for developers. All music can be found this website!
Outside of music, Rob performs in a local improv comedy troupe. He's actually not that bad!
Growing up in a house filled with music, it was perhaps inevitable that Pete would be drawn to performing arts. And after being forced to learn classical guitar (he reached grade 2!), he had the necessary skills to start a rock band. He spent most of his formative years crying into a microphone on stage, but sadly the world wasn't ready for his brand of ethereal noise blues, and that elusive record deal never materialised.
Still, having cut several EPs in various studios, he had developed a taste for sound layering. He bought himself a copy of Pro Tools, and started to teach himself recording and production techniques. Eventually, it was time to step things up a notch.
He took himself off to Cambridge to study Creative Music Technology under the legendary Julio d’Escrivan, graduating with first-class honours and a wealth of expertise. Whilst there, he also earned a certification as an Apple Certified Audio Engineer.
Pete can usually be found late at night fondling his instruments next to a forgotten cup of tea.
